We are hanging up the apron early this year. We are not accepting orders for December and January so that we may enjoy the holidays with our family and friends. Happy holidays and best wishes for a joyous new year!

Cupcakes, cookies, popsicles....oh my!

Oh so adorable, but don't try to eat these goodies!

I'm always on the look out for goodies, edible or not, and found Tammy and her Milk and Cookeez right around the corner in Hudson. She makes the cutest soaps in the shape of all things yummy...cupcakes, popsicles, cookies, ice cream sandwiches, donuts, and more. I couldn't say no to a cupcake and popsicle for my niece, a cupcake for my mother-in-law, and a gingerbread man for myself. : )

Just in time for the holidays, you can find her at the Silver Lake Country Club Holiday Boutique on November 21st. Stop by for some stocking stuffers or a cute basket of soapy fun.

Check her out at Milk and Cookeez and her newest addition Ice Cream and Clean for all of her yummy offerings and where to purchase.

Updates soon, I promise!

Yes, I am the worst blogger in the world! I hope to bring you information on what is going on with Sugar House Cookies and Cakes as well as other creative people we think you might enjoy reading about very soon.

If you know of someone (preferably Ohio) that has a business you think I would be interested in blogging about, please drop me a line with a link to their website or blog. I'm looking for anything cookie/cake/cupcake related, not necessarily an edible item though (stationary, clothing or accessory, general gifts).

Until then, stay warm my friends!

A few ideas...

Last week I had the pleasure of creating baby shower favors for a friend of the family. It was a fun design and something different than I have done in the past.

The above photo shows the size difference between our regular cookie favors and the new mini designs. The favors on the right were for the shower. Bright colors for the striped onesie and an A for the mom-to-be's last name. I made a few matching regular onesie cookies for mom-to-be.

The photo above shows a few different ways to package the mini favors. I had some extra cookie dough and thought I would make a few mini rounds using a mixture of the two colors, yellow and lime green, to make a marble design. Two rounds and a mini onesie decorated cookie, three rounds, or five rounds. Using plain rounds along with a decorated cookie, mini or regular, is a great way to put together favors on a budget. Using the plain rounds gives a modern feel to the favors as well.

The above photo shows how just a few cookies can be packaged for a gift. Three regular onesie cookies packaged in a fabric-lined wicker basket (two gifts in one!).

So whatever your budget, we can create favors to fit your event.
